Griefers cause of grid problems?

July 30, 2007 by Metaverse Journal Editor 6 Comments

Fellow Aussie SL blogger Tateru Nino is alleging that foul play is behind the past few days’ glitchiness in SL.

Whatever it is, it’s intermittent and causing a lot of frustration. I attempted twice over the weekend to complete a full lap on the Relay for Life and both times my browser crashed. Has your time in SL been affected by the glitches?

Absolutely my time in SL has been affected. I can’t teleport anywhere. I can’t upload textures. I can’t rez anything in-world.

    At least chat is working.

Some people say SL is just a glorified chat system. At the moment, that’s all it is.

I’ve got to agree, Diag. It’s been darned hard to work. Things might be easing though. Concurrency just leaped sharply upwards at last (noon SLT).

That doesn’t help those of us who have lost inventory because of the problems. I’ve lost my Huddlez, not so terrible, but it had lots of customisations in it, however it also contained a stack of no-copy animations which have now gone poof 🙁 This relates to teh “failure to rez” issue which has been around for months – its back with a vengeance. Quite a few people in the Huddlez group have reported similar losses.

Until SL is stable (!) I won’t be attempting to rez any no-copy items.
