Wolfie’s Rez-Day

July 19, 2007 by Metaverse Journal Editor 8 Comments

Kookaburra Pub on Eragon was the scene for widely known Aussie SL resident Wolfie Rankin’s ‘rez-day’. Well over forty people turned out for the surprise party:

I asked Woflie what has meant the most to him in his first year of SL residency:

“I think getting Eragon and finding so many lovely friends and supporters, everyone in their own way helped me in so many ways and I’m extremely grateful”.

A good time was had by all, and Eva must be congratulated for the exceptional effort that she put in organising the event and keeping it a secret from wolfie.

When I tried to get into SL last year, there were so many new people, something like five a second. Lindens computers just froze up but I kept trying to get in.

I think SL is a bit like sex, the newbies are like sperm,
so many but only a few will ever grow into something special.

Newbies on the main grid are a bit like toddlers, always a bit silly, confused and troublesome, but with help can really bloom… and I have seen this happen several times.

It’s lovely to see that spark go off, when they “get it” and from then on it’s a pretty easy ride.
